Together privacy policy

Effective: September 19, 2026.

Together counts the days since you and your partner began, on a home-screen widget. The two of you can share the same count across two phones. To make that work, the app keeps a small set of data on a server. This page lists all of it.

Your account

When you first open the app, it signs in to Google Firebase with an anonymous account. There is no email, phone number or password. The anonymous ID identifies your phone to the server.

What is stored on the server

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore from the moment you finish onboarding, even if you never invite a partner. It lives in the Europe multi-region (eur3).

Your pair

• the two names you entered, and birthdays if you added them
• the "where we met" city, if you chose one from the list: its name, country and the city's map coordinates (not your phone's location)
• the background you picked
• whether Pro is unlocked
• a pair code, and the code last used to join the pair; both are kept for as long as the pair exists
• the list of phones in the pair: each phone's anonymous ID, when it joined, and whether it runs Android or iOS

Your dates: for each date you add, its title, the day, and whether it repeats.

Your photo: if you set your own photo as the widget background, a JPEG copy of up to 700 KB, so your partner's phone can show it too.

Your purchase: for the phone that paid, the store's purchase token, the platform and the time. The token lets the app confirm the purchase. It holds no card or payment details.

Invites: an invite code that points to your pair, and the ID of the phone that created it.

Nothing else is sent to the server. The images drawn for your widgets and your settings stay on your phone.

Who can see it

Only the phones that belong to the pair can read or change the pair's data. The developer can reach the database with administrator access, and uses it only to handle a deletion request you send (see below).

Services the app uses

• Google Firebase: Authentication (the anonymous account), Cloud Firestore (storage), and App Check. App Check uses Play Integrity on Android and App Attest on iOS to confirm requests come from the genuine app.
• Google ML Kit barcode scanning: reads the invite QR code. The scanner and its model run on your phone; the camera image is not sent anywhere.
• Google Play Billing for the one-time Pro purchase.

There is no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting.

How long data is kept

Your data is kept until you delete it: in the app (Delete pair and all data) or by email (see below).

• The database has no backups. Point-in-time recovery is off and no backup schedules are set. Deleted data is gone within about an hour.
• The pair code has no expiry. It is replaced when you create a new one, and removed with the pair.
• If you leave a pair after paying for Pro, the pair keeps only a "Pro unlocked" mark so your partner keeps Pro. No purchase token and no ID of yours stay with it.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Delete pair and all data. Confirm, then type the confirmation word.

• If this is the only phone in the pair, everything above is deleted: the pair, its dates, photo, members, your purchase record and the invite code. The app also clears its local settings, cancels its notifications and deletes your anonymous account.
• If your partner's phone is still in the pair, your phone leaves the pair. Your phone's entry, purchase record and anonymous ID are removed, and your name is blanked unless another phone holds it. Your partner keeps the pair and its data. The app tells you this before you confirm.

You can also leave a pair (Leave pair) or remove any phone from it (Remove device). Removing a phone also removes its purchase record.

Children

Together is made for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used the app, write to support@kalaganov.dev and the data will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date.
