Daily Spark privacy policy

Daily Spark is a home-screen quote widget for Android. It is built to keep everything on your phone.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. The store build does not request the internet permission and makes no network requests of its own.
What stays on your phone
Your settings, starred lines, your own lines and whether Pro is unlocked are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them. The app opts out of Android's cloud backup.
On Android 12 and later, a direct phone-to-phone transfer during setup of a new phone may still copy this data to your new phone. That transfer runs between your own devices; the developer is not involved.
Saving your lines to a file
In Settings you can save your own lines and starred lines to a file, and import them later. You choose where the file goes through the system file picker. That can include a cloud folder you use, in which case that service's own privacy terms apply. The app itself does not connect to the internet to do this.
Permissions
The release build requests:
- Run at startup (
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) and wake lock, so the widget refreshes on schedule. - Foreground service and view network connections (
FOREGROUND_SERVICE,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE). These come from Android's WorkManager library, which schedules the refresh. The app does not use them to go online. - Google Play billing, for the Pro purchase.
Purchases
The one-time Pro unlock is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy. The app only learns whether the purchase exists, and keeps that answer on the device so Pro works offline. The developer never sees your payment details.
Content
Every bundled line is in the public domain, with its author and source named in the app.
Children
The app is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date.
